1 Fun Junior camp – First is the Fun Junior squash camp for the 7 – 12 yr old beginner – good beginner – this is a great way to introduce your child to squash – they will enjoy learning basic squash technique and playing games and participating in table tennis, chess, board games,  movies and more! Hours are 9.30 – 3.30pm.

2 Novice – JV level camp  The second type of camp we offer is for novice through to JV players 10 – 17 yrs. The coaching staff have unique squash abilities and talent to teach your child skills to prepare for JV level squash. Participants are divided into 2 groups dependent on level for the program. Hours are 9.30 – 3.30pm.

3 JV – Varsity level camp  JV – Varsity level camp – our team of experts will work with JV – V level players to bring them to the next level for the start of the squash season. Emphasis of technique, strategy and fitness.

4 Elite level camp  Varsity level camp – our team of experts will work with intermediate – high level tournament players to significantly improve their US Squash ranking. Emphasis of movement, technique, strategy and fitness.

Coaches:  Mike Way has been a professional coach for more than 25 years, and is the Gregory Lee ’87 and Russell Ball ’88 Endowed Coach for Squash at Harvard University. Way has coached such impressive players as world champion and seven-time Canadian champion Jonathan Power, Australian world champion Sarah Fitzgerald, and Canadian titlists Graham Ryding, Shahier Razik, and Marine Baizley.

Brian O’Hora — hails from Ireland where he represented his country at both junior and senior levels. While attending college in Cardiff in Wales, Brian received his BSc in Sports Coaching Science and his SRA level 3 coaching award. While in college Brian was a member of the team which won the British Universities Team Championships three years in a row. He represented Ireland in the European Team Championships in 2000.  Brian has coached multiple national junior national team members and  host of other players who have played on teams such as Princeton, Yale, Harvard, Tufts, Brown, Williams and Cornell.

Coaches:  Jay Naseem is one of the DC Areas only Level 2 Certified Coaches.  He oversees the squash programming at Potomac Squash Club as well as McLean Racquet and Health Club.  He coaches juniors and adults who are among the top rated players in their division.  His players  develop a life-long love of squash and a healthy lifestyle by developing a sense of fair play along with skills and the intellectual and physical discipline required to excel in the sport.  He has been coaching squash full time since 2008.  He emphasizes fitness and mental acuity in his coaching –  teaching students not only proper technique, but the proper mind-set and thought process to play winning squash.  Along with being an accomplished coach, he is a successful player in his own right winning local championships, national skill levels and consistently ranking in the top of his age group nationally.

Camps run from 9 am – 4 pm Monday through Thursday, and 9 am to 2:00 on Friday. Campers can do whole day or half day camp.

Players will be divided by skill level and our expert coaches will tailor each session to the skill level and learning style of each player.   Beginner/Intermediate camps are great for players who are new to the game or who have not started to play lay competitively. Each day we’ll work on basic strokes, foot work, and leave plenty of time for playing to instill a sense of the rules, game tactics and refereeing.

Mark Lewis is the Boys and Girls Varsity Squash Coach at The Potomac School. The boys have won the Mid Atlantic Championships for the past three years while the girls were the 2013 Mid Atlantic Champions. In addition the girls were seeded to compete in the top division at the US High School National Championships. Mark was #2 in US, the Boys Jr. National Coach and three time member of the US Men’s National Team. He was US Squash’s US Olympic Committe Athlete of the Year in 1999. He has more than 20 years coaching experience teaching all levels from elite juniors, professionals and beginners.

Camps run from 9:30 am – 12 noon Monday and Tuesday
Players will be divided by skill level and coaches will tailor each session to the skill level and learning style of each player.  As educators we will encourage each player to set goals for the camp and then tailor the instruction to meet learners’ needs. He has coached adults and juniors alike at the Indianapolis Athletic Club, Meadow Mill Athletic Club in Baltimore, MD, Results the Gym on Capitol Hill. Patrick is the Associate Squash Professional and Athletics Coordinator at the Country Club of Virginia.   Patrick has been active on the Professional Squash Players Tour capturing and maintaining a top 100 ranking from 2007 to 2010. As a youth, he was active in world-wide tournament play representing his native Zambia and South Africa where he went to school.  Patrick’s style on the court is athletic and quick emphasizing and Egyptian/Pakistani style of attacking squash.

Jay Naseem is one of the areas only Level 2 Certified coaches.  Jay oversees squash programming at Potomac Squash Club and McLean Racquet and Health Club.  His players develop a life-long love of squash and a healthy lifestyle by developing a sense of fair play along with skills and the intellectual and physical discipline required to excel in the sport.

Camps run from 9 am – 4 pm Monday through Thursday, and 9 am to 2:00 on Friday. Campers can do whole day or half day camp.

Players will be divided by skill level and our expert coaches will tailor each session to the skill level and learning style of each player.

Elite camps are focused on the serious squash player who wants to achieve a top level of play with focused training. The elite camps focus on refining all squash strokes, growing emphasis on game strategy, fitness and court movement as well as shot selection and competitive readiness.

1 Fun Junior camp – First is the Fun Junior squash camp for the 7 – 12 yr old beginner – good beginner – this is a great way to introduce your child to squash – they will enjoy learning basic squash technique and playing games and participating in table tennis, chess, board games,  movies and more! Hours are 9.30 – 3.30pm.

2 Novice – JV level camp  The second type of camp we offer is for novice through to JV players 10 – 17 yrs. The coaching staff have unique squash abilities and talent to teach your child skills to prepare for JV level squash. Participants are divided into 2 groups dependent on level for the program.
