National Capital Squash juniors took home four of the five titles in the girls divisions and BU15 to score wins in over half the divisions at the Mid-Atlantic Junior Championships, which were played at Squash on Fire Oct. 21-22.  The tournament was open to juniors from Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina and Virginia.

NCS junior girls swept the top two positions in GU19, GU13 and GU11.  Hanna Chaudhry dropped just one game in GU19, to finalist Shalika Neelaveni.  It was Hanna’s third regional title. Khadija Elhaddad won GU11, beating Caroline Dupree, who knocked out the #2 seed from Baltimore with a 3-0 win.  GU13s Layah Nasr and Elise Kang swept the top two spots, with each reaching the finals with consecutive 3-0 wins.

Aalia Husain edged the #3 seed Erica Maebius in a closely contested five game match in the GU15 semis.  Aalia then beat the #1 seed 3-0 in the final, her third regional title, while Erica easily took third.  Emma Wolf reached the finals in GU17 before losing to the #1 seed from Baltimore.

NCS BU15s took three of the top four spots in that draw.  Christopher Kang dominated the division, winning all four of his matches by 3-0 scores to secure his first-ever regional title. The #1 seed from Baltimore gave him the toughest match, in the final, but even he fell by a score of 6, 5, 6.  Eric Lovallo took third and Alex Akbari finished fourth.

Matthew Granovsky took fifth place in BU17 after losing to the eventual winner and #1 seed in a competitive quarterfinal match.
